A lot has changed since Russell Westbrook’s coronation in the NBA Finals.
The Thunder star is now a bona fide star, the Lakers are in a rebuilding mode, and the Clippers are trying to find a way to compete for a title.
But the franchise’s history doesn’t end with Westbrook.
Westbrook’s success as a player and a leader has led the Thunder into a more stable situation.
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s first-year coach, Billy Donovan, became a fan favorite.
Westbrook is now part of a dynasty.
Donovan’s Clippers, who made the NBA playoffs the past three seasons and have the league’s best record, are now expected to win another title.
They have the pieces to do it.
The Clippers have a solid foundation of players and coaches who have made their mark on the NBA, and Donovan has taken a strong interest in developing them.
He’s a former star, but his success has led to some talent being acquired through free agency and trades, including a return to the Thunder as a head coach.
His teams have been successful, and he’s helped the Clippers win championships and get over the hump.
They haven’t won a title, but they’re still expected to make a deep playoff run this season.
Donovan has developed a relationship with some of the Clippers’ veterans and is now developing the roster with an eye on next season.
Westbrook has developed into the best player in the league and is the team’s cornerstone.
The player who could be the next big thing is the second-year guard, Russell Westbrook.
The team has taken the first step toward getting back to the playoffs.
They’re a top-10 team in the East, but Donovan said he’s confident they’ll be good enough to win a championship.
He knows his roster has talent and he knows his team has a chance to make another run this year.
The way Westbrook and the Thunder are playing, they can get back to that, and I think we have a chance of doing that, Donovan said.
He also believes the Clippers can win another championship.
I’m optimistic, Donovan added.
We have a lot of talent and we have some young talent that’s ready to step up and do their part.
I think Russell Westbrook is the answer to that.
He leads the league in assists and rebounds per game, and his game is evolving and evolving, too.
I know we’re all on the same page.
Westbrook averaged 23.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game last season.
The Lakers have the NBA’s second-best record, but have been plagued by injuries and are rebuilding their roster.
The Rockets are a wild-card team and are expected to be better than last season’s 76-72 record.
Donovan said the Lakers will have to be patient and keep trying.
The Los Angeles Clippers are going to have to make sure they’re playing their best basketball this year, and if they do that, I think they can have success, Donovan told the media after the team played its first game in the new arena.
We are trying out different things in training camp and preseason and it’s going to be a great season.
I’ve said all along that we want to get back.
I feel like we have what it takes to be good again.
I just want to make the most of it.
We want to win more games.
The league has changed dramatically in the past decade, but the Clippers have stuck together through it.
Donovan is confident his team will make it back to it, even with injuries and a rebuilding mentality.
It’s a great team.
They’ve got a young core that’s going through something different, and they’ve got the best players in the world in Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.
I don’t think they’ll go anywhere.
I’d like to think they’re going to keep playing hard.
I love what we’re doing.
